My last photo essay, I chose two types of nature to take pictures and edit, pinecones and orange flowers. These subjects were selected to show how well the flowers and gardening SBRHS has in the center courtyard. I selected this place because it shows a lot of bright and eye catching images that forced me to do this project. The concept I'm trying to portray is that nature can come in all colors and shapes, and although the pinecones and flowers are different in appearance, both express beautiful texture and lines. The pictures capture this story because they show zoomed in pictures of the plants and express that both can bring out the true meaning of nature. I decided to arrange the plants from pinecone-flower-pinecone-flower etc because it allows the viewer to compare the two objects and be able to compare and contrast the true to grasp different colors, lines, and angles between the two. In my opinion, the fourth picture on the top row is the strongest because it shows the most clear image of the pinecone, which allows the viewer to see more in-depth of just a plain old pinecone. It expresses bold background, shapes within the pinecone, and very clear rule of one thirds. The composition deals with the background of each photo, as the green appearing from the back of the plants allows the main focus point to stand out and allow the viewer to see things they usually wouldn't.
